MOTUSORBITAS
MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2019
AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE ILLUMINATED BY OLED LIGHT, ALESSANDRO ZAMBELLI AND APPLELEC PRESENT MOTUSORBITAS FOR MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2019.
MOTUSORBITAS seeks to investigate the vastness of space, experimenting with a design language that links the abstract and the ancestral. The innate sense of curiosity and the explorative nature of humans creates a sense of attraction to what lies beyond our planet and at the same time a fear of it.
In Motusorbitas, an alphabet of illuminated signs is sent into the ether in search of explanations. The objects illuminate with lunar light and appear to dancE in the space with no gravity. Their constant spin reveals their incessant and endless life. Satellite sculptures in orbital motion as if they were celestial bodies.
'I’m particularly excited about Motusorbitas, a unique immersive experience that surely will amaze visitors during Milano Design Week. Key was the collaboration and support of Applelec, a market leader in the field of OLED technology.' Alessandro Zambelli, founder Alessandro Zambelli design studio.
MOTUSORBITAS experiments with OLED light to create a borderline installation between art, design and technology. Exclusively presented by Galleria Giovanni Bonelli, a 300 square metre space in the heart of the Isola Design District.
Opening Tuesday 9th April 7pm until Sunday 4th May.
